Because this month is Dysautonomia Awareness Month, we wanted to talk a little about some of our very special POTS patients.
Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome is a common form of dysautonomia that effects over 1 million people worldwide. Over 80% of these people are women and many of them also have autoimmune disorders along with their POTS.
Some of the major symptoms that effect patients with POTS are dizzy spell and fainting, tachycardia, chest pain, shortness of breath, shaking and tremors, upset stomach, and exhaustion with exercise and sometimes even simple tasks.
At Fusion Chiropractic, we have really worked hard to become a haven for people struggling with POTS and other forms of dysautonomia. We know that many of the patients like this have struggled for years for a diagnosis and continue to work on symptom management and can be hesitant about adding another doctor in the mix.
We hope to help you find exactly the help you need with us as well as assistance in your symptom management. We have found chiropractic to be a really helpful part of symptom management for many POTS patients.
