A Fusion of Healing Modalities

Dr. Cynthia Seebacher, D.C., is committed to continuous learning and has developed expertise in a wide range of therapeutic techniques. By creating a fusion of multiple approaches, she provides comprehensive chiropractic care tailored to each patient’s unique needs.

Understanding Subluxations and Whole-Body Health

Dr. Cynthia’s approach is based on the principle that muscles move bones. By balancing the muscular system, she addresses the root cause of joints being pulled out of position. A subluxation—a small misalignment of a joint—can trigger far-reaching effects throughout the body, including muscular imbalance, neurological and vascular dysfunction, postural abnormalities, body asymmetry, temperature changes, and even organ and immune system problems. This is why comprehensive chiropractic care that addresses multiple body systems is essential for restoring optimal health and function.

Primary Adjustment Techniques

Thompson Technique

Dr. Cynthia primarily uses the Thompson technique for analysis and adjustments. You may recognize this approach by the use of a drop table, which helps absorb the shock and energy of the adjustment for greater comfort. Drop table adjustments are typically performed in sets of three.

Sacro-Occipital Technique (SOT)

This comprehensive and gentle technique is recognized by its use of blocks or wedges. SOT goes beyond physical and mechanical structures to incorporate Chiropractic Manipulative Reflex Technique (CMRT), which addresses body systems and organs, and Chiropractic Craniopathy, which works with the cranial sutures. While more time-intensive, SOT offers a thorough, whole-body approach to healing.

Advanced Tools and Modalities

Dr. Cynthia utilizes a comprehensive array of therapeutic tools, including Activator, Impulse, Rapid Release, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Manipulation (IASTM), Physio-therapeutics, and Functional Rehabilitation. To address the emotional, mental, and spiritual dimensions of healing, she may incorporate visualization, meditation, and essential oils. Nutritional guidance is also available to support healing from the inside out.

Extremity Adjusting

Subluxations aren’t limited to the spine. Other joints throughout the body—including hips, knees, ankles, shoulders, elbows, and wrists—may also require adjustment to restore proper function and alignment.

Soft Tissue and Myofascial Work

Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT)

With over 20 years of therapeutic massage experience, Dr. Cynthia incorporates extensive soft tissue and muscle energy techniques into adjustments. Her foundation in Neuromuscular Therapy introduced concepts of trigger point release and referred pain patterns.

Myofascial Release

Fascia—the connective tissue that envelops muscles, bones, and skin—can be thought of as a knit sweater: a snag in one area creates tension throughout the entire garment. This explains why left shoulder pain might originate from tight right gluteal muscles, which lead to hamstring tension, left knee pain, and even ankle discomfort. Thomas Myers’ Anatomy Trains framework maps these myofascial tension lines throughout the body.

Neuro-Kinetic Therapy

This muscle testing system identifies which muscles may be disrupting neurological communication or compensating for other muscles. When the body is injured or overstressed, the brain can shut off communication with affected areas and recruit other muscles to compensate. Scar tissue can create similar neurological dysfunction, which is why patients who’ve had abdominal surgery—such as C-sections, appendectomies, or gallbladder removal—often experience low back pain originating from frontal scar tissue rather than back muscles themselves.

Continuing Education and Advanced Training

Dr. Cynthia continues to expand her expertise through ongoing study with leading practitioners:
