What Kind of training does a chiropractor have?
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, to become a chiropractor you have to earn you D.C. or Doctorate of Chiropractic. This degree takes 4 years to complete and requires a least 3 years of undergrad before applying. 

All students complete classes focused around anatomy, physiology, and biology; as well as clinical rounds where they train in diagnosing, adjusting, and spinal assessment. All states also require chiropractors to be licensed by the National Board of Chiropractors Exam. All states require a practicing chiropractor to take continuing education classes to maintain his or her chiropractic license.

On top of all of this, Dr. Cynthia was a practicing massage therapist for many years before she began school for chiropractic.

Happy Women’s Equality Day


Today is Woman’s Equality Day! We decided it would be a perfect time to learn a little about the history of Chiropractic. 

The chiropractic profession dates back to early 1895, when D.D. Palmer performed his first adjustment of the spine.  Dr. Palmer was responsible for developing the Philosophy and techniques of Chiropractic. The daughter-in-law of Palmer, Mabel Heath Palmer, became the first female chiropractor in 1905, with her son David Palmer soon following in the family’s footsteps. 

Not only was Mabel Palmer a professor of anatomy for over 20 years, but she also authored the textbook Chiropractic Anatomy which expounded on the cornerstone idea of innate intelligence. She became the president of the first ever women’s chiropractic organization—Sigma Phi Chi—and was married to Doctor B.J. Palmer for almost 45 years.

Woman have been at the forefront of chiropractic since the very beginning, and we are so happy to be a part of continuing the legacy of amazing female chiropractors.

This is our amazing Chiropractor Dr. Cynthia Seebacher D.C. Dr. Cynthia primarily uses the Thompson technique for analysis and adjusting. Most people are familiar with this because of the use of a drop table. After 20 years of practicing therapeutic massage, she also incorporates as much massage and muscle energy techniques as needed during your adjustment. Traditionally trained with Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT) which is a technique that initially introduced the concepts of trigger points being released and referred pain patterns.

This is one of the things that makes Dr. Cynthia so special, she blends the years of experience on massage with her training in chiropractic to truly help her patients.
